We have been so thrilled with the response to the Bronte-Along so far.  43 bloggers have joined us so far in our Jane Eyre obsession!

As you know, we are unable to leave our cherished Rochester entirely behind, so we will be adding Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights to the mix, rather than actually switching to it. And that way, anyone who wants to can join in at any time with whichever book they choose. No need to feel like, “Boo hiss, I missed Jane Eyre!”

Now, let’s join Heathcliff and Cathy on the moors for Wuthering Heights!

Here is our favorite adaptation, conveniently available to watch right here (in ten minute segments.) It is also streaming on Netflix.

You can read Wuthering Heights online right here.

We encourage you to add your Wuthering Heights-related pictures to the Bronte-Along flickr pool- it’s a great way for the other participants to see what you are up to. Don’t forget to link to your post in the caption!

To keep up-to-date with all things Bronte-Along, make sure to connect with us on the Eggplantia Facebook page . Please feel free to post your related links on that page, too! We want it to be a  community place.

If you tweet, follow @brontealong on  twitter! (and @eggplantia, for that matter!)

Remember: in the widget below, only link to a specific post about Wuthering Heights! And visit this post to be reminded about how to keep your posts archived.

And stay tuned for some amazing guest posts!

Giving it all away

by Melissa and Beth on 11 April 2010

So, dear readers, we have come to the exciting conclusion of our very first giveaway!

First, we must apologize for being a leeeeeeetle beeeeet late with the announcement of the winners. Beth came down with some sort of heinous bug on Friday and had to hide under the covers for about 36 hours before she could emerge, triumphant.

And we can hardly carry on without each other, can we?

Clearly.

So we reconvened this afternoon to do what needed to be done.

And here… are… your… WINNERS:

Prize 1 – Bundle of Sugar Snap Fat Quarters (by Melissa Averinos)
Terri
Terri’s Notebook

Prize 2 - Bundle of Garden Party Fabric (by Anna Maria Horner)
Jana Nelson (AKA Izzy & Ivy)
Lola Again

Prize 3 - Adorable Handknit Forsythia Mitts (by Beth Dunn)
Minnie
Rah Rah Blah

…and as it turns out, all of our winners have their very own blogs, which we strongly recommend you check out. SPREAD THE LOVE, YO.

Now, To Business

We’re just about ready to wrap up the Jane Eyre portion of the BronteAlong, so everybody who hasn’t yet posted their thoughts, crafts, drawings, whatevers on the topic of Jane Eyre, you should do so in the next week or so. We’ll move on to Wuthering Heights next week!

And we’ll warn you, we don’t plan to roll around in Wuthering Heights and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall quite as much as we have in Jane Eyre.  So maybe we’ll spend two or three weeks on each?

We’ll play it by ear, y’all. Fast and loose. Unicorn style.

So wrap up your Jane Eyre business this week, blog it, contribute to the Flickr pool, post it on the Facebook wall, and tweet it up, as is your wont. (Of course you can keep on doing Jane Eyre-related goodness in all of those places — God knows we can’t seem to let Mr. Rochester go — we’re just going to be shifting our focus soon to the next Bronte sister, and wanted you to know.)

And queue up your books and movie versions of Wuthering Heights — we ride to the moors of Yorkshire in one week!

How about a giveaway?

We want to thank our darling subscribers, so  we’ve put together a little bundle of three prizes.

Prize one, 4 fat quarters of Melissa’s fabric line, Sugar Snap!

I hope you’ll forgive  their wrinkles and the fact that a couple of  them are a couple inches shy of an actual fat quarter.

mmmm, sugar snap!

Prize two, 4 half-yard cuts of Garden Party by Anna Maria Horner:

And prize three, amazing spring mitts designed and made by Beth!

They are so adorable! And they feature little forsythia blossoms!

To enter, just leave a comment letting us know that you have subscribed to Eggplantia!

We will randomly draw three names on Friday, April 9.
